With a few simple habits, a resin table or clock keeps its shine for years.<\/p>\n<h2>Everyday cleaning<\/h2>\n<p>A soft, dry or slightly damp cloth is all you need for dust and fingerprints. Dry straight away with a clean cloth. On a dark, glossy surface, a microfibre cloth avoids streaks.<\/p>\n<h2>Products to avoid<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Abrasive products, scouring sponges and cream cleansers: they scratch the surface.<\/li>\n<li>Alcohol, acetone and solvents: they can dull or damage the resin.<\/li>\n<li>Ammonia-based glass cleaners, used repeatedly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For a stubborn mark, use a little warm water and a drop of mild soap, then rinse and dry.<\/p>\n<h2>Heat<\/h2>\n<p>Never put a very hot cup, a saucepan or an iron directly on a resin table: heat can mark or soften the surface. Always use a coaster or a trivet.<\/p>\n<h2>Sunlight<\/h2>\n<p>UV rays can yellow resin, especially white bases, and fade dried flowers. Keep the piece out of direct sunlight, or behind a net curtain.<\/p>\n<h2>Scratches<\/h2>\n<p>Put felt pads under heavy or rough objects (lamps, ceramic vases). A fine scratch can be softened with a polish made for resin; for a deep scratch, ask for advice before doing anything.<\/p>\n<h2>How to move a resin piece<\/h2>\n<p>Wrap the tabletop or the clock flat in a thick blanket, with nothing on top; protect the corners and the mineral edge, which are more fragile than the surface. Do not leave the piece in a vehicle in full sun.<\/p>\n<h2>The clock<\/h2>\n<p>A soft, dry cloth on the dial and the edge; no water near the movement.
