A wedding clutch is usually 20 to 25 cm wide and 12 to 16 cm high. Enough for the essentials, not for everything. Here is the list we give our customers, in order of priority, along with what can stay in the car or with the maid of honour.

- Your phone, charged the night before: camera, a photo of the invitation, directions.
- A bank card and ID ; a banknote for the cloakroom or a taxi.
- Your keys, without the bulky key ring.
- The lipstick you are wearing that day, and a small mirror if the clutch does not have one.
- Tissues : there is always an emotional moment.
For comfort
- Two plasters, for new shoes.
- A hair clip or two hairpins.
- A headache tablet.
- A breath mint for after dinner.
What stays at home
Your full wallet, your make-up bag, a power bank, a bottle of perfume. If you cannot do without them, leave a small day bag in the car or with someone close.
Choose a clutch that closes securely
A frame with a kiss clasp or a clip closes in one movement and will not open by itself; a drawstring holds too, as long as you pull it tight. A flap clutch is held in the hand: practical for the ceremony, less so for dancing. If you are the maid of honour
The maid of honour often carries the bride’s little things: her lipstick, pins, plasters, tissues, sometimes the thank-you cards. In that case, go for a larger size, 20 × 25 cm, or a bag on a chain that leaves your hands free during the ceremony and the photos. Keep a small clutch inside the bigger bag for dinner.

Do I need a different clutch for the civil ceremony and the evening?
Not necessarily: a neutral shade that catches the light, such as black and gold or white beads, goes from the civil ceremony to dinner.
