The clutch that finishes an occasion outfit

A phone, a lipstick, a card, your keys: an occasion clutch carries almost nothing, yet it shows in every photograph. We make ours in embroidered velvet, with the same gold and silver threads as our boleros, so that it echoes the waistcoat or the jewellery set. Each clutch is sewn and embroidered by hand in Paris, in very small runs.

Three kinds of clutch

• Gold-embroidered velvet occasion clutches (49 euros) : velours noir, bleu nuit ou bordeaux, broderie dorée en couronne, en motif floral, ou à pompon ; une version brodée argent sur noir et rubis. Format main, fermeture sûre, doublure assortie. C'est la pochette de mariage et de henné par excellence.
• Floral brocade clutches with chain (€120): woven brocade in silver and plum or silver and lilac, with a chain for wearing on the shoulder. Larger and dressier, for a wedding guest or the mother of the bride.
• Diamanté velvet clutch (€120): burgundy velvet set all over with diamanté, for the evening.

Matching the clutch to your outfit

La règle simple : la pochette reprend une couleur de la broderie du gilet ou une pierre de la parure, pas la couleur de la robe. Sur une robe bordeaux, une pochette noire brodée or ; sur une robe noire, une pochette bordeaux et grenat ; sur une robe claire, une pochette bleu nuit. Les ensembles boléro et pochette assortis, à 129 euros, règlent la question d'avance : la pochette est brodée du même motif que le boléro.

Handmade, piece by piece

The velvet is cut and the embroidery laid in metallic thread or trim, then the clutch is lined and closed by hand. The motifs are placed by eye, one piece at a time, so no two clutches of the same design are ever exactly alike. The exact dimensions and the fastening are given on each product page.

Care

Store the clutch flat in its dust bag, away from perfume and damp. Dust the velvet with a soft brush; never use water on metallic embroidery. Diamanté and beads can be wiped with a dry cloth.
